Grandma Jean

My dad asked me to make a layout of one of his remaining pics of his mother, Grandma Jean.
The photo wasn't in the best condition and it was a pic of a pic of a pic... you get the idea.


I definitely wanted a vintage feel to it. My dad asked for the colors of peach and blue. I went with a type of teal blue. 

Some interesting facts about my grandma was that she was a Police Officer- Meter Maid back in the 50's in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was also allowed to carry a weapon. Later she went on to be a nurse. I think the photo is just lovely.

This is what I used to paint on the above chippie.

Below I used one of my StencilGirl stencils. I love their quality and variety. Also you can see some Prima flowers and the most top notch butterflies handmade by Renea H. Here you can see all her other fabulous products. 

Here you can see where I used my Anna Griffin embossing folders and I used my Anna Griffin Minc machine for that blue swirl. The pin was handmade by a fellow Flying Unicamper.

                                      

Here you can see some more stencil work and playing with microbeads.. loved playing with the beads.

My dad was so happy with this. He wants to make copies of it and send it to his siblings.

Some utensils I used were : the Pearl... and  in the shape of a heart. There is also some stitching (ok ok fake ) stitching along the edge... and then the washi tape on the top border.. is from Tim Holtz. I used some Liquid pearls with a stencil. I used my 3rd Eye Stamps on some layers under the pic. The Pic is from Facebook. It was a share of a share! It's not my picture.
I did tear papers in the top and bottom sections.

This is a picture I took a few years back of my boy before church. These were really sweet. I used some of my 13 Arts papers and stickers and some products from the Scraps of Elegance Lovesong kit.

~Follow Your Heart ~ Tag Swap for Scraps of Darkness

Time for another TAG SWAP over at Scraps of Darkness. Ms. Heather will receive this tag.  I loved making this tag. I used the new Anna Griffin Embossing folder - Poppy.  I loved using this folder.  I cannot wait to use more of these folders!! I also used my new Color Shine from Heidi Swapp - Primrose and Gold. Round Robin and MORE

I designed a very special layout for my first time as leading the Round Robin over at Scraps of Darkness.

I absolutely LOVED using my 13 @arts papers. I used Frosted Life  : COLD WALL.

The first challenge I would like to enter this layout is over at Zeus and Zoe: January Challenge Your Word for 2013:  I chose LOVE. I want to love more.. to explore love more, show more love for my family, friends and especially love for my craft. Live with Passion and love as much as possible.

The second challenge I am entering is over at Berry71Bleu : January Challenge  Celebrate Me.
Sometimes I find it hard to scrap about myself. I wanted to make something really beautiful. I like shiny things, beautiful things, and all kinds of baubles. I am holding my nephew Hezekiah. I'm not sure about the look on my face but I liked it.  There's a new song out that I really like and part of the song says   "Sometimes gotta close my eyes just to open my soul".
