ROCK STEADY... RR entry for SOD

I had forgotten that I had signed up for the RR over at Scraps of Darkness back in October for the November round. Luckily everyone needed an extension so I was able to contribute my entry. Hooray!! I used my JULY kit of the month Gypsy Summer. Papers used were Graphic 45- Bohemian Bazaar and My Mind's Eye - Collectable Collection.

Here are a few close ups:

In this photo I used my heat embossing powder from Close To My Heart : Sunny Yellow and my 3rd Eye Stamp - Rose.

In the above photo ... I used my EXCLUSIVE StencilGirl  Stencil... and my awesome LAVA RED  InkaGold Metallic Rub! It worked beautifully with this stencil.

Using another EXCLUSIVE StencilGirl Stencil from the month of October;this time using Lime Green InkaGold Metallic Rub.

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut my Graphic 45 paper to make this butterfly and the round circle image behind the photo and topped off the butterfly with Stickles. I also used Heidi Swapp Color Shine : Black Velvet on this cardboard as well as several Gelatos.

I just got these letters from my friend Margaret!! Thank you! I've loved my Tim Holtz Industrial Stickers.

ATC kitty and Paper Temptress

Happy Sunday to ya!!

I was playing with my Paper Temptress again and decided to use my cuts on my ATC for a swap.

I used some Marbelized Vellum which can be found here.

I really love the Vellum Package because I get to sample the different options.

Shimmery vellum and cardstock

I also tried the Copic Sampler Package the Cryogen White 89# There is a little sparkle to my kitty.

Paper Temptress also offers flowers and ribbons. I had to order the Holiday Blue Ribbon Carnation which can be found here

I also did a little masking in the top right corner by using a mixture of modeling paste and some powders from Lindy Stamp Gang. It's a soft pink butterfly wing.

I used my 3rd Eye Stamps for the various elements. 3rd Eye has a wide variety of stamps and some exciting new products check it out here.

Here is the final project.

Tag Swap Time

Happy June.
Over at Scraps of Darkness we have a Tag Swap going.
This is for Ms. Karen. I've seen mine and cannot wait to get it!
I specifically created it with the challenge in mind going on at The Flying Unicorn.

Here are a few close ups:

My 3rd Eye Stamps shining

The flourish peeking out under the keys cut from cardstock from PAPER TEMPTRESS.

Loved using my cogs

Can't have too many keys
The keys were on Heavenly white 80# cardstock from PAPER TEMPTRESS.
Here's the final pic of the completed tag:

I used several pieces of my papers from PAPER TEMPTRESS. In the top right corner is a flourish I cut using the Lustre paper. For the keys I used Heavenly White 80#, and for the leaves I used from the Basis Cardstock green. I embossed them with different types of powders.. I tried the Tim Holtz Embossing Puffs and it was ok... I like the black gloss look better.. it turned my paper some weird ashy look. I still love my CTMH embossing powders.. I have yet to find a better powder.
To check out the fantastic papers over at Paper Temptress : Click Here.
I used several of my 3rd Eye stamps: BRICK WALL  TES-080 I used for the basis of my tag;  For my leaves I used the BRAID stamp and cut it up TES-019; I was inspired by a post on the 3rd Eye blog which you can see here Click here; I used the KEY stamp TES-028;  I loved stamping them in multiple colors; I stamped the Cogs 3 set on the outer portion of the little envelope TES-090. To check out all the amazing stamps available from 3rd Eye click here.
I used the following Distress Inks: Black Soot, Walnut Stain, Antique Linen, Peeled Paint, Tea Dye, Vintage Photo, Seedless preserves.

Sister- February Reveal for Paper Mixing Bowl

Red Velvet Cake is our theme in the kitchen this month! Loads of layers with red, cream and brown. I went in the direction of creams with hints of the other two colors.

Head over to The Paper Mixing Bowl to cook up something neat with us.

My focus in this layout is of the photos of my sister, Kristina, which I took about 5 years ago.  I loved these photos. I also paired some red flowers. Thank you to Homer and his book The Odyessey for lending some pages to my layout.

For my layer cake, I used my photos and book pages, doily punch  and old papers with pictures of stamps. For my frosting I used some moldeling paste mixed with ink to make my butterscotch frosting. For my pairs of course the 2 pairs of photos and the 2 red flowers.. the 2 clock symbols, 2 DUSTY ATTIC chipboard pieces. My rings are from the bottom of my Mtn Dew can dipped in Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

For my directions I just know of the love I feel for my sister. We seem to go thru a lot in our lives but we always try to stand by each other. Thank you sis no matter where we are in the world or even down the street from each other you are loved. The Fleur symbol is a nod to her matching tattoo. Here is the finished product  resembling a messy desk:

Prima papers yum!

3rd Eye Challenge - 13 STITCHES

Here's my crazy take for the "13" Challenge over at 3rd Eye. The title is 13 STITCHES.
I love my 3rd Eye stamps. This is my first ever Art Journal page.
I also used some fibers that came in my Scraps of Darkness Creativity Kit. Those were a bit .. hairy to work with. LOL

I was experimenting with the stamps.  This piece is not meant to be pretty. I used the white crackle paint to simulate a mask. Is her mask falling away and her real appearance is showing? Is she part fish, or dragon or snake or just a scaly cold person?  Is she trying to break free but can't?  Is she forced to be silent? or are the leaves and paint and fake hair all a part of her mask.. who is she underneath. It's just an Art Journal page and me playing with my Gelatos.. .all the ones I could find in Michaels. I need to find the yellow /green ones.

PS : YOU WILL NEVER GUESS WHAT I USED AS A MASK FOR THE ROUND DOTS ON HER FACE!!! LET'S JUST SAY I RECYCLED A PRODUCT.. IF YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT I USED LEAVE A COMMENT BELOW. LOL.

Supplies used :
3rd Eye - Leaf-- TES-026
Stickles- Waterfall
CTMH embellishment on the eye
The Rubber Cafe - Black Puffy Paint
Liquitex - Modeling Paste
Distress Ink - Tea Dye
Distress Marker-Black Soot, Antique Linen, Spun Sugar
Fiber Castell- all the colors I own
Embellishment Village - Fibers
Fiber Glue- Stiffy-by Plaid
Crackle Paint - White

13 Stitches

MODELING PASTE, STAPLES, FIBERS AND CRACKLE PAINT

MY HIDDEN 13 IN THE STITCHES

MODELING PASTE USING A SECRET MASK, AND STITCHING  OF THE LIPS

A LIGHTER VERSION

I decided to make her face all in leaves. This was very different for me.
I used the powder on the fibers.. first pour the powder then put on the fiber and then put the craft sheet and the hot iron on it. It stuck to the sheet. So then I tried the glue version and that was even more sticky. I'm not sure which method works best. I'll figure it out.
Thank you so much for looking and leaving a comment.
Have a blessed day.
Happy Scrappn!

My first album

A last minute idea.. with 4 hours only to figure it out. I thought I would make a little photo album for my friend. He and his roommate came for a visit last Christmas. I thought I would try out my Cinch that I had never used. I didn't know what  I was doing. I have learned now to strategize better. I was glad I had whittled down the photos. Ya know sometimes less is more! ahahha  I really was stressed trying to get this done. Now I know I want more time to really play with techniques and enjoy the whole process. This is just to show my 4 hour mass heart attack attempt at a journal.  My fingers are still sore... seems  I covered up the holes ... with paper and thought the little paper piercer would do the trick.. uh NO!

On the cover I used a new white washing technique that I learned from a class that I took from Drycha.
Class can be found here.
I used papers from my DECEMBER SCRAPS OF DARKNESS KIT.

DA0656 and white washing technique from Drycha's class

Page 2 as seen below I used the arrows from 3rd Eye : TES-015. I used some Prima flowers and brown lace.

On this page I used DA #7 Ornate Corner and TES-006, TES-018. The Kardiogram and the See With The Heart stamp.
Aren't they funny.
On this page I used the 2 hearts from 3rd Eye along with a Melissa Frances RubOn; TES-002, TES-003

This is page 5 here.. Terry and David. I used 3rd Eye Frame stamp : TES-025

No clue about the fingers lol!

Just having a laugh

Page 8 here... lots more Prima flowers and Prima trinkets.
Still no clue about the fingers.

Page 9: I used lights from 3rd Eye : TES-041. I used Walgreens for the first time directly and I loved playing with their borders option. I tried a different border on every pic. I loved it.  In this I also used a DA0393-Pocket Watch.

FRIENDS FOR A LIFETIME

Page 16 last page.. whew....I used my favorite rose stamp from 3rd Eye TES-020 and Olivia TES-037. I used some washi tape on here as well.
Another fave shot.

I learned a lot making this journal. I used pizza boxes for every page and then covered. I should NOT cover up the holes and I think next time I will go ahead and thread the book and work from that angle.  It was a last minute gift thought request. I've already started saving my pizza boxes because I plan to do more.

Products used:
THIRD EYE STAMPS
Prima Flowers
Dusty Attic

Scraps of Elegance - Discover Me

The Sketch of the Month for November at Scraps of Elegance...

Now I must point out the butterflies. I've held onto a couple of my wins from Ms. Renea. I so totally love her butterflies. You must check out her Esty : http://www.etsy.com/people/reneabouquets

I loved painting my Dusty Attic Birds (DA0708). For the yellow I used some cheapo nail polish.

I also used modeling paste on a new mask and totally loved how it turned out.

I've taken many pics of my flowers. I love taking pics of my flowers.. sometimes I think they whisper....

DISCOVER ME.
