Stalker Challenge August 21-September 21 at Scraps of Darkness

Well over at Scraps of Darkness .. this was the challenge:

This month's challenge invites you to stalk the internet for a card sketch, card artist, or the recesses of your mind for an idea to help you to come up with a card. The card doesn't have to be anything fancy or elaborate, I just want  you to try something new or if you already make cards to share what you know. If you do lift another artist be sure to give them credit.
The Rules:
1. Use at least 50 % Scraps of Darkness product. This can be kit product or store product.
2. Make the card using scraps leftover from another project.
3. Use distressed layers.
4. Include some fussy cutting
5. The most important rule of all-HAVE FUN!!

I used a sketch from KINDERSTAMPO from last Wednesday: http://www.kinderstampo.com/2011/09/introducing-sketchy-wednesdays.html

I definitely used some scraps. This was just thrown together tonight so bear with me.

I really like that corner metal piece.

I love blue and brown

trying my hand at fussy cutting

I couldn't think of anything short to say on the bottom.

I used my Tim Holtz Regal Folders.
I inked a lot with Vintage Photo.
I included some rub-on's.The woman figure is from The Graphics Fairy.
Thanks for looking.

Happy Scrappn!

Live
Craft
Inspire
Live: I live to scrap; to create!  I live a very interesting life with my son, David. He'll turn 13 next month! Yikes a teenager! I can't believe I'll be 40 this month!!!!  I love to scrap. I love to scrap everything. I've learned from CraftySprinkles a new term called "Mixed Media Artists". I like that. I like to try everything. What do you like? I hope you'll tell me and share with me your creations.
Craft:    My Craft style is ever changing. I'm currently learning about layering and masking.  I love so many styles out there.. I started scrapbooking when I returned home from the serving in the US Army. I wish I had taken more pictures back then. Since coming home I've taken up a bigger interest in photography and I've tried my hand at painting some acrylic and oil. I took a class at the local Hobby Lobby by a certified teacher of the technique "One Stroke Painting" by Donna Dewberry. Man I love her show.! Well her's and Bob Ross!!  I've painted a paper bags and wooden plaques.  My interest shifted again towards scrapbooking in early 2000. I've been hooked ever since. My favorite tool currently is my Cricut! What's yours?
Inspire:  I find inspiration from everything.. I love online galleries, to the magazines I still get in the mail. I find tons of inspiration from my followers. Some of these folks are published, design team members, and none of the above, but all artists at heart. I see some great work from these guys and gals and it inspires me to try new things and to go outside my comfort zone; to get out of my own way and just try! I really want to document and share life around me and my family. My Son is my favorite subject to scrap. I hope you find inspiration and try something new today. And always .. scrap from your heart. Scrapbooking makes me happy.. I especially love shopping for the craft hahahhahahahhaha. Who doesn't love the shopping part??????????.  So tell me.. what inspires you?

~Scraps of Darkness~ Destiny

Here's another layout using the Envy Kit for August. I chose to do my dear friends Lidia and Alex. I met them while attending OBU. They were from Brazil. Lovely lively couple and we had some fun times.  I remember my ski trip with Lidia and her brother to the real Rocky Mtns! WinterPark CO! I never laughed so hard in my life. This couple immigrated to Canada and have two lovely children. They are still married to this day.  I'm so glad to call them friends. Here's my tribute to them. I have some close ups and will have to retake the pic in the morning sun vs this afternoon sun. I'll put it so you'll have a general idea.

I used a certain.. pgm for the letters. and then used some white gel and viva decor

loved the flowers that came in the kit

the little frame came in the kit; the charm is from CTMH

had to put in my TH and see the rubon

bummer my last dragonfly
Should be better lighting the sun was going down.

I've been using my friend, Margaret's , Cricut Paperlace cartridge.. and it's the magnificent frame around the photo.. and then I saw the flowers on there so I cut that. Then  I wanted more punch work so I got out those 2 sets. I used my Viva Decor Ice White to make the pearls. I did stencil distress the bottom blue piece.
More Items I used:
Kaisercraft
Tim Holtz
Martha Stewart
Zip Dry
Scotch ATG
Close to My Heart items
Melissa Frames
Petaloo

Thanks to Scraps of Darkness for having an awesome kit.
