I was nominated as a creative blogger by one of the super talented and my beautiful scrapbook friend Laura Gilhuly. Laura creates such amazing pieces. I totally love her work and love watching her grow. I was so lucky to get to work with her! She rocks it! Make sure to check out her blog!! We are joining up as a chain of fun blog hop tours where so many of us will get to meet new bloggers, get new inspiration and connect with blogs that will open up our creativity. This hop is sure to get your mojo going! Here are my 4 questions that need to be answered before I pass along my nominations. I'll give you my answers then lead you to 3 amazing artists you will love visiting! 1. What am I working on? I have been so blessed to be on different teams. I am working on projects for the next issue of Scrap N' Art Magazine and also for the design team of Art Anthology. Below is a sample for the magazine.
2. How does my work differ from others of its genre?
I have to say I have a varied style. I don't feel like I fit into one area. I like to try them all. Sometimes I'm in the mood for vintage... sometimes romance and then sometimes vintage romance. I love to experiment and try new techniques and tools and products. I love sharing what I learn and find. Maybe my style is hodge podge or a buffet of interesting colors.
3. Why do I write/create what I do?
I started this as a way to preserve the memories and photos of my family and of items that I find interesting. Then it grew into something more. Exploring on the internet, looking in magazines and seeing my friends work inspired me to try to do more. However I do feel that I've left my original intention and purpose behind. I feel very soon I will go back to my roots and focus more on preserving my memories of my family and friends.
4. How does your writing/creating process work?
I used to start with a photo..then I tried starting with the paper. I love my paper. Now with working on a magazine it starts with the product that I must focus on. I look to others for inspiration and technique and sometimes I implement it. I definitely dream design. I'll think about it, jot ideas down and then play - move pieces around and see what I like. Basically in the end create what you love- about what you love- using pieces and products you love. I have been so blessed in this journey and I surely hope to continue to feel inspired to create. I hope you do too!

Sad to say this is my last post for Stuck On U Sketches! boooooooooohoooooo. What a fun great team. I am so grateful for my time there. Our challenge this week is all about CIRCLES!!!!!!!!!! Hop on over to SOUS to check out what our fabulous girls created. Here's my contribution: First you will want to start with a foundation page. Then pull out a nice contrasting piece of paper. Choose your favorite punch and work your way around the edges. You'll want to position the picture where it looks best for you. For me I was going for a circular draw. I made the arrows lead the viewer into the picture.
and now a few close ups. A simple page but full of wonderful smiles!
From here you can see a close up of the gears and arrows for a more masculine feel.
This is my son and my sister taken several years ago!
Here you assemble the gears and flowers to anchor the photo down and to represent masculine and feminine within the photo. Choose complimentary colors to match the photo and papers. Choose your favorite glue to adhere your papers and embellishments.
So there ya have it. Super simple but dynamic page to really focus on the photo and to satisfy both the masculine and feminine. Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a great summer! Thank you so much to LEAH AND NANNE! You ladies are fabulous!! Remember to smile and Happy Scrappn!
Hello crafters... the challenge this week is for Stuck On U Sketches is something 3D.
Wow the team did a fantastic job on this challenge. Make sure to go on over to the blog and see what was made. Join us and create something beautiful today. This is a flashback project.
The flowers and trees are blooming and my oh my the allergies! ha ha.
The challenge this week is to use a TREE in your project.
Go on over to SOUS blog and see what our wonderful designers have cooked up. Really cute projects.
I used my Sil. Cameo to make this Tree Card. I think it can function as any type of a card. I wanted the message inside to carry the real message so I left the front simple.
I fell in love from the first moment with 3rd Eye products. They were so unique and there was no store in town that could carry her stamps.
Karolina is fabulous lady and fun friend.
I got my chance to design for the team and what a fun ride it has been!
It was rough going in the beginning due to the death of my mom but I kept going. My mojo is almost fully back and some days are better than others. I know my mom would be so proud and would want me to keep going.
Stop by 3rd Eye for my last post for that team.
One of my first projects using 3rd eye....
Every little girl dreams of being a princess at some point in their life right? Well my 2 nieces at different times played dress up and had princess themed parties. The Basically Bare album is just perfect to capture these 2 Lil Princesses. Check out the rest of the post here: 2 Lil Princesses
I'm so excited to share my first project with Basically Bare. Here is the tip of the iceberg. Please go to the Basically Bare blog to see the full project. This was the Tiny Tab album provided by Basically Bare, it is so adorable and cute! I also used some Art Anthology - Sorbet - Dimensional Paint - Leaf. It's a wonderful green. I also used Art Anthoology - Dimensional Crystal - Fairy.
Head on over to the Basically Bare Blog and take a peek. I think my brother and his wife will enjoy the album and be able to fill out the rest.
Thanks for looking and Happy Scrappn!!
Here's another project created for 3rd Eye using her fabulous goodies.
Of course one of the big subjects in my life is our dog, George. I stamped a sheet of white paper from PapterTemptress Heavenly White 80.. and then heat embossed all the gears using 2 different 3rd Eye stamps Cogs 2 and 3. The flair to the left is from 3rd Eye as well as all the stamped images on the background. The chipboard stars and feather are from 3rd Eye as well.
Here are some close ups:
BoBunny Anthem- Patriot
Art Anthology - Color Spray - Focus, Raider, Juicy, Timeless
Art Anthology - Dimensional Crystal - Guava, Bluebird
Art Anthology - Sorbet - Dimensional Gel Paint - Chocolate
Paper Temptress -HW80
